Kindergarten Zoned Intake Applications
2010 - 2011

All intake applications received after
March 12th, 2010 will be put on a wait list.

In the Main Office:

Monday - Friday 9:00 - 11:00 am

  • FOR GENERAL EDUCATION (KINDERGARTEN ONLY)
  • FOR CHILDREN TURNING 5 BY DECEMBER 31, 2010
  • BORN IN THE YEAR 2005
  • CURRENT RESIDENTS OF NEW YORK CITY

ZONED SCHOOLS - Eligibility in order of priority:

  1. Zoned students with verified siblings who will be enrolled in grades 1 - 5 for 2010-2011
    (Sibling currently in K - grade 4)

  2. Students who live in the zone, but do not have siblings currently in the school.

Non zoned applications are handled by the Office Of Student Placement, 388 West 125 St.

Families may complete intake materials at each school at which their child is eligible to be considered.
With the application, parents/guardians must also submit:

  1. Proof of Age
    • The child's official birth certificate or baptismal material; or
    • An official passport showing date of birth

  2. Name, date of birth and OSIS number of any siblings, if applicable

  3. 2 Proofs of Residence
    Two proofs of residence as required by Chancellor’s Regulations A-101 http://docs.nycenet.edu/docushare/dsweb/Get/Document-11/A-101.pdf
    • Utility Bill (gas, water or electric); or
    • Statement from an employer or social services agency; or
    • A deed; or
    • If your family is sharing an apartment with another family,
      - A notarized letter from the Leaseholder/Deedholder AND Parent,
           affirming that the family is residing in this home
    • Documentation from the New York City Housing Authority; or
    • Documentation from the New York City Human Resources Administration

Kindergarten Admissions Calendar for 2010-11 School Year

Kindergarten Admissions Timeline For Children Born in 2005:

Kindergarten Registration Intake Period Begins February 1, 2010.
Kindergarten Intake Period Ends March 12, 2010.
Schools Notify Families of Kindergarten Offers March 22, 2010.
Families Pre-register at Schools April 12 - April 23, 2010.
As they have in the past, zoned schools will give priority to Kindergarten students who live in their zone.

  • CURRENT RESIDENTS OF NEW YORK CITY

ZONED SCHOOLS - Eligibility in order of priority:

  1. Zoned students with verified siblings who will be enrolled in grades K - 4 for 2010-2011
  2. Zoned students without siblings applying to the zoned school.

Non zoned applications are handled by the Office Of Student Placement:

Families may complete registration materials at the school they are ZONED for.
With the application, parents/guardians must also submit:
